It was the first time I attended a Scrap Fest event and it was amazing. It was a huge room filled with everything scrapbook related. I was in heaven! There was so many vendors selling everything your little scrapbook heart could desire. While there I found some beautiful paper from My Mind's Eye. I have been following their blog and website ever since. They have a newsletter which can be seen <a href="http://www.mymindseye.com/Newsletter/2011_02_Newsletter.pdf">here</a>. I was impressed with their newsletter. It has layouts with all the materials they used and instructions on how to make the layout. Their blog also has sketches for cards and layouts.<br /><br />I have been thinking about my blog and would like to have each day designated to something specific. For example, one day I would share a current layout, another day an older layout I made, another day a card and maybe one day I would introduce you to a scrapbook website that I like to visit. I will put the wheels in motion soon. Just got to think of some catchy names (I'm not good at stuff like that).<br /><br />Thanks for visiting.Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-28732450304817235882011-02-03T12:47:00.003-05:002011-02-03T12:56:37.130-05:00Chef Mickey<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcCaDV8Ffx5wNWvJicA-_MHsmOcz4SAkqTdRUdo-E1X8wDpYyZRUosHaNcVPNS7NOOepNXZCUbNYSp4hRliQdFo30mWuD_EBi4thROE2ziHrz7YBbpyaoDrkQb89oWqA6JyTCDVxDrmEf1/s1600/IMG_0320.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 215px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcCaDV8Ffx5wNWvJicA-_MHsmOcz4SAkqTdRUdo-E1X8wDpYyZRUosHaNcVPNS7NOOepNXZCUbNYSp4hRliQdFo30mWuD_EBi4thROE2ziHrz7YBbpyaoDrkQb89oWqA6JyTCDVxDrmEf1/s320/IMG_0320.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569522115179412546" border="0" /></a><br />As promised, I have a Disney layout to share with you. The first is a double page layout of us and Mickey Mouse. We went to Chef Mickey the first night we arrived at Disney. I thought it would get us all in the spirit of Disney since we were not visiting a park that day. Having dinner at Chef Mickey was certainly one of the highlights of our trip. What was great was we got to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald, take pictures with them and the kids got autographs. And because we did all this, we didn't need to wait in line at the parks to meet these loveable characters. Even better, this was part of our meal plan. We had so much that evening and couldn't wait to see what the rest of Disney had in store for us. I made pages of Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto as well, and will share them with you soon.Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-16192235632635978032011-01-29T18:36:00.004-05:002011-01-29T18:59:21.799-05:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyMBg5naC0ujacVRWR2ryXLBHjoeCaUMA1geHiaUBgU58NEjDXfvoelGV5QYY4YRP22tkFXXBZxxeMiW3mQxC3NjzlhhIfff1iuRC6MTxM5i7vw4brRxfbm0DwAMJaQs43QCW1fvFHlC_S/s1600/IMG_0295.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyMBg5naC0ujacVRWR2ryXLBHjoeCaUMA1geHiaUBgU58NEjDXfvoelGV5QYY4YRP22tkFXXBZxxeMiW3mQxC3NjzlhhIfff1iuRC6MTxM5i7vw4brRxfbm0DwAMJaQs43QCW1fvFHlC_S/s320/IMG_0295.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567756930208628354" border="0" /></a><br />You must be getting sick of seeing the pages from my calendar. I have to take some pictures of the Disney layouts I have been working on, so that I can share them with you. But in the interest of keeping my blog going, the calendar it is.<br /><br />The pciture is my cousin and his son. My Aunt was happy about this page, since these two never take a good picture. The paper is all from Die Cuts With a View, the Citrus Stack. The chipboard embellishments are from Colorbok, which I purchased from Michaels.<br /><br />Most of my scrapbook pages are scraplifted or created using a sketch. This one was scraplifted from an advertisement for Imaginisce. The advertisement is below. I wanted to make a banner as in this picture, but I kind of ran out of room. Thanks for looking!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVkwGBxB9AP9wzCVRtsyFTkx0n2NGaH7QsHWxGrhcRk_LJz2mQacTAIA_4g8mM27c05U3-zSY8G0-wUOVpM1BZbRf4ie_zsHvQTHCFQeb0FKvaK9J86ipvdBzlCoyb72cwtu9jSJkyT2dE/s1600/Imaginisce.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 318px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVkwGBxB9AP9wzCVRtsyFTkx0n2NGaH7QsHWxGrhcRk_LJz2mQacTAIA_4g8mM27c05U3-zSY8G0-wUOVpM1BZbRf4ie_zsHvQTHCFQeb0FKvaK9J86ipvdBzlCoyb72cwtu9jSJkyT2dE/s320/Imaginisce.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567761277841317522" border="0" /></a>Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-13351756221449070552011-01-27T18:54:00.002-05:002011-01-27T19:10:25.319-05:00More Calendar<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQNq-xyXOIFQtsEY_EiSVg6EiLwul2ZASnjKAsfwTiYjEJTDQ5YgnqeNZj6M3F2q7fSRToljWXo052eH0ZxXQ0Sq2f5ucugb_LKDP9f7H3aYP17wSC6q7fk7ESt9JjJmLU-rY9L8OFe4Rc/s1600/IMG_0294.JPG"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQNq-xyXOIFQtsEY_EiSVg6EiLwul2ZASnjKAsfwTiYjEJTDQ5YgnqeNZj6M3F2q7fSRToljWXo052eH0ZxXQ0Sq2f5ucugb_LKDP9f7H3aYP17wSC6q7fk7ESt9JjJmLU-rY9L8OFe4Rc/s320/IMG_0294.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567019051004396834" border="0" /></a><br />Here is another page from my Aunt's calendar. I forgot to mention the calendar is 8x8. I thought this size would be easy to work with, but I didn't take into consideration that a 4x6 photo would take up most of the page. <br /><br />This page uses Bo Bunny paper. I really like their stuff. I made the flowers using a fan folding technique. The swirls I picked up at Walmart and "Family" is a rub-on I bought from the dollar store. The only problem was the rub-ons all stuck to the backing, so I wasn't able to use all of them. The picture is my daughter Hope and my cousin's daughter Olivia. It's a great picture of them. Overall it was an easy layout to make and I'm happy with how it turned out.Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-5496207743272241202011-01-23T11:37:00.002-05:002011-01-23T11:46:19.031-05:00Another Calendar Page<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX16_qMFPPM6UElVsMfv2d1AsBe7V8ySSl2u5hvQcCpj2aa3oYhUKn57bNf_GeihpZdIKOx9OEsUqmc4uc0UhsNkq_Yu9j0-27tW0STJ4t4ir7lRtAj3KVcs0Pv05MadWxgjJbsgRGYwtL/s1600/IMG_0300.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX16_qMFPPM6UElVsMfv2d1AsBe7V8ySSl2u5hvQcCpj2aa3oYhUKn57bNf_GeihpZdIKOx9OEsUqmc4uc0UhsNkq_Yu9j0-27tW0STJ4t4ir7lRtAj3KVcs0Pv05MadWxgjJbsgRGYwtL/s320/IMG_0300.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5565421940560837298" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Another page from my Aunt's calendar. This is a picture of my cousin Tricia and myself. Not the greatest picture of me. I used some Stampin' Up stamps to make this layout. I used Vintage Vogue and Define your Life. The flowers were stamped, cut out and popped up with foam squares. I don't normally use stamps on my layouts, but I'm happy with how this turned out. The paper is all Stampin' Up. I cut the scallop circle with my Cricut. Have I told you how much I love my Cricut?Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-83037297698231823532011-01-21T20:46:00.006-05:002011-01-22T08:57:02.120-05:00Calendars<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlgAnx3PLrX8c-0s6cgOqAJS9zPoUiBnLFfRRfrSExjh0dgzgA17gVyfU3AFrFRIdz_LLRt7zCMTn6xnOkCwtkpE0i1K221ZN5IfgDCKFkKrIF7ycN-N0P1EDiAwngteFzj2U0-iJvGp7m/s1600/IMG_0298.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlgAnx3PLrX8c-0s6cgOqAJS9zPoUiBnLFfRRfrSExjh0dgzgA17gVyfU3AFrFRIdz_LLRt7zCMTn6xnOkCwtkpE0i1K221ZN5IfgDCKFkKrIF7ycN-N0P1EDiAwngteFzj2U0-iJvGp7m/s320/IMG_0298.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564823708128413282" border="0" /></a><br />For Christmas 2007 I made a scrapbook calendar for my Aunt. This year she asked if I could change one page for her, which I was happy to do. The page had a picture of her daughter and her now ex-boyfriend (the reason for the change).<br /><br />She bought a new blank calendar and was hoping to take the pages from the old calendar and put it on the new calendar. I was having none of that and gladly offered to make a new one.<br /><br />Well, January is almost over, and I have finally finished it. I thought I would share a page with you. I love how this page turned out. The picture is my Aunt and her granddaughter, Brianna. I used my Cricut for the photo mat and the swirls. The scallop edge at the bottom is punched circles and the flowers were handmade using a flower from Quickutz.<br /><br />And now a layout from the first calendar. Not my best work, that's for sure. It's amazing how my style has evolved over the years. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4FdICvEyBGMnVZ3z16ZeMx6LuZgIxOPySOsy6Ar3-Gk-sQi1Y_g-pBBX8l0T7Hj82sz4rzvibSM_qJjTnIYyIj_MPB_-g9l-3QpTkWWO0kGhOhH3GEareiL3af0DNN7LD4VzbzOCPV0LG/s1600/IMG_0305.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4FdICvEyBGMnVZ3z16ZeMx6LuZgIxOPySOsy6Ar3-Gk-sQi1Y_g-pBBX8l0T7Hj82sz4rzvibSM_qJjTnIYyIj_MPB_-g9l-3QpTkWWO0kGhOhH3GEareiL3af0DNN7LD4VzbzOCPV0LG/s320/IMG_0305.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564825421490594642" border="0" /></a>Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-59042487165907763092011-01-19T22:15:00.003-05:002011-01-19T22:20:16.793-05:00Friends<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7yUnoZtB-q9H0HgIRhzGrN-1kVmZUmkTbKNYxp4zaqMuzXZJVkjbq9GZTHjAPD_SvB-L4yYhsg-zse3PzXwXOJ2MWgZ18DCWCzucA4rD1esdOVVvHP4IJaqYyO6FKcruG7RfBQx-xiyP/s1600/DSC01345.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7yUnoZtB-q9H0HgIRhzGrN-1kVmZUmkTbKNYxp4zaqMuzXZJVkjbq9GZTHjAPD_SvB-L4yYhsg-zse3PzXwXOJ2MWgZ18DCWCzucA4rD1esdOVVvHP4IJaqYyO6FKcruG7RfBQx-xiyP/s320/DSC01345.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5564101911584522418" border="0" /></a><br />This daily posting thing is going to force me to create more. Which is good considering I am desperate to finish my Disney scrapbook. I hope to share some of those pages with you soon. We went to Disney for the first time last May and are heading there again in March. Can't wait, but would really like to have the pictures from the first trip all scrapped before going again.<br /><br />To answer Pam's question, I don't typically put anything on the inside of the card. I have some sentiments that if suitable I will put inside. I have seen some people decorate the inside, which I love, but I find it makes the card too bulky, so I don't do much on the inside.Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-50252122273191616252011-01-18T20:32:00.002-05:002011-01-18T20:37:11.963-05:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH2LyRXXAywXYXC-WPxE0KOJWP4YbXVspKbQFbzgg8ua622Bcfb8zhjgJTs7rMUd6aZQEKW50GUKwwbIqTLXE-me8_eBaSdRCgqYnxKtWdHc2EAzi3LIzQPLhWLzkWAvJA5iUtSjsWjDJq/s1600/DSC01346.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH2LyRXXAywXYXC-WPxE0KOJWP4YbXVspKbQFbzgg8ua622Bcfb8zhjgJTs7rMUd6aZQEKW50GUKwwbIqTLXE-me8_eBaSdRCgqYnxKtWdHc2EAzi3LIzQPLhWLzkWAvJA5iUtSjsWjDJq/s320/DSC01346.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5563704039059283522" border="0" /></a>This is just a simple card I created. The butterflies are a die from Stampin' Up. I love these butterflies and use them quite often both in card making and my scrapbook pages. The swirl is from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the sentiment is from Upsy Daisy. The patterned paper is from a Stampin' Up stack that was in one of their mini catalogues last year. This paper is actually one of my favourites from that stack (I have a thing for stripes). I hate using it, because once it's gone, there is no more left. I find it hard to part with my favourite scrapbook items! <br /><br />Thanks for looking!Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-2016554977962392402011-01-17T20:23:00.005-05:002011-01-17T20:33:35.394-05:00Two days in a row!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_5qFh34Na_GGd9PxsQfIsywFuKWkQRToUwyKwXQ6ifOwdZ26r6LgM-yw4rvTQ3DHjcHm4Vfi0WBloa0WM9NDWiwgKqnVWaZGclumBiNjtcHcMU5RmReA7JU7RLRtU2K0YOpKn6IGPRM5x/s1600/IMG_0156.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_5qFh34Na_GGd9PxsQfIsywFuKWkQRToUwyKwXQ6ifOwdZ26r6LgM-yw4rvTQ3DHjcHm4Vfi0WBloa0WM9NDWiwgKqnVWaZGclumBiNjtcHcMU5RmReA7JU7RLRtU2K0YOpKn6IGPRM5x/s320/IMG_0156.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5563331673775569906" border="0" /></a><br />Another post! I religiously check out the blogs I have listed on my blog, but I'm not good at keeping up my own. I have been creating lots! Actually, last weekend I was on a crafting spree. I think that was the only good thing about last weekend. But that's another story. I probably don't tend to my blog as much as I should because I think there is only one or two people who actually follow it. I guess I should try to get it out there more. I'll have to think about that.<br /><br />For today I have something I created, that I'm not sure if I like or not. I like some elements of it. I think I made poor colour choices. In any event here it is for your viewing enjoyment (or not so much!)<br /><br />Off to enjoy some time with friends. I wish there was a punch that matched the butterfly as it's a bit time consuming to cut out.</div><br /><div></div><div>The new in colours are not my favourite, but I do like Rich Razzleberry. </div><div> </div><div>I used Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock for this card. The idea for the swirls with the butterfly came from a card I saw at some point, but can't remember where. The layout was "cased" from a card by Andrea Walford. <a href="http://andreawalford.com/?p=2657">http://andreawalford.com/?p=2657</a>.</div><div> </div><div>Striped paper is from the Cottage Wall designer paper. </div><div> </div><div>The swirls are from Priceless and are stamped in Old Olive. The small flowers are from Priceless and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The butterfly is stamped in Rich Razzleberry, cut out and adhered on top of stamped swirls.</div><div> </div><div>The ribbon is Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for looking.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div>Kristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11009543432481853416noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9138688583788908009.post-80108696652181960292009-10-05T11:58:00.004-04:002009-10-05T12:07:32.951-04:00Christmas Cards<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnfNtS20xLVVKQLxn2Xqjep93814sCpGCXnnK1WXH__QTheH7nd-c5XfZpQFX3nnQqQpPmnzBSbY4F9aaL_8CRxaEP6XwpzWD_SR7USdpwrr2GVPb5U8xTr3NbR5ZWMb1_5zaEIOs4zewj/s1600-h/IMG_0011.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389146933155817362" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 257px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnfNtS20xLVVKQLxn2Xqjep93814sCpGCXnnK1WXH__QTheH7nd-c5XfZpQFX3nnQqQpPmnzBSbY4F9aaL_8CRxaEP6XwpzWD_SR7USdpwrr2GVPb5U8xTr3NbR5ZWMb1_5zaEIOs4zewj/s320/IMG_0011.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Here's a Christmas Card to get you in the Christmas spirit...it will be here before you know it.</div><div> </div><div>The card base is Baja Breeze.
