Christmas 2006

Here is a double page layout I created last night. It is a complete "lift" of a page in the October 2008 issue of Creating Keepsakes by Summer Fullerton in the column Becky's Sketch. See page 38 of this issue. (I wish I knew how to post these side by side).

The pictures are from a Babyville Christmas get together in 2006. We did a gift exchange, so I had lots of pictures of everyone with their gift. This layout was perfect for these pictures.

2009 Calendar

As promised, here are pictures of the calendar I made my Mom for Christmas. I need to figure out a better way to take pictures of scrapbook layouts. I don't like scanning this many pages, because it takes time because I have to scan it in pieces and then "stitch" it together. So I take pictures with my digital camera, but I haven't figured out the right setting, to take good pictures. Back to the calendar...I usually create a page to relate to the month (i.e. January has a picture of my brother-in-law Colin, because his birthday is in January). I'm happy with how the calendar turned out this year. I hope my Mom likes it.

Not a Christmas Card

This is not a Christmas Card, but I like it and thought I would share it with you. The stamp set is Mostly Flowers and Sincere Salutations. The patterned paper is a stack I got awhile ago from Costco. I lifted the layout from somewhere, but can't remember where.

Friendship Blooms

I thought I would take a break from posting Christmas cards. Actually, all my cards have been written and mailed. Check that off the list. But I still have lots to do in order to be ready for the 25th. The birthdays are done; the shopping is done; the baking is done; I'm working on the last calendar, and all the gifts still need to be wrapped. Thankfully Joe wrapped a few this evening. He forgot to use the Santa wrap (all Santa gifts are wrapped in Santa paper), but I'm trying to just let it go and be thankful for the help.

About the card...I created this using the "Friendship Blooms" stamp set from Stampin' Up. Cardstock and ribbon is Old Olive. The patterned paper is Deja Views. I really like how this turned out. I have to get more sentiments of this style.

I have been working like crazy trying to finish the 2009 calendar for my Mom for Christmas. I think this is the 4th year I've made her one. Apparently she looks forward every year to receiving it, and I enjoy creating it for her. I'll share some pages from the calendar with you after I give it to her. In the meantime, here is another Christmas card I created. Enjoy!

More Cards

Here are some more Christmas Cards which I made for the craft show. The photo quality is poor. I find it hard to take pictures that do the cards justice. They are also in clear bags, which probably isn't helping.

My craft show is over! Now I can concentrate on all the busyness of Christmas. I thought I would share with you some of the cards I made for the show. Enjoy!

New Stuff!

I feel like a kid in a candy store! I just received some new stuff from Stampin' Up and I'm loving it all. I couldn't make up my mind as to which stamp set I was going to buy...and last minute I changed my mind and ordered the Season of Joy. I made three cards this evening. Enjoy!

Priceless Cards

Some cards created using the Priceless stamp set by Stampin' Up.

Just a reminder that I will be at a craft show at Palmerston Public School on November 29th. Hope to see you there.

I'm still here

I thought I should post something, seeing as I haven't added anything in awhile. I have been trying hard to finish some cards for my first craft show I am attending with my sister on October 25th. I'll be sure to share them with you after the craft show is over. I'm anxious to get back to scrapbooking, and will hopefully have something new to share with you soon.

Carvin'

Another Halloween layout. I created this following a challenge at Scraptivity. The challenge was to create a layout following instructions given. I have to be honest, I wasn't prepared to glue anything down until I got to the end. It turned out pretty good...although it's not something I would generally create (i.e. the handwritten journalling).

I've been trying to make Christmas cards lately. Note the key word, "trying". I get all these great ideas, but they don't seem to work very well. So I gave up on cards for a little while and decided to finish the Halloween layout I've been working on. Thanks for looking.

I took the day off today and had the entire day to myself, since both Hunter and Hope were at school. After doing dishes, washing the floors and doing some laundry I made these Christmas cards. I can't take credit for third card; it is a complete lift from a card I saw at Splitcoaststampers. Check out the original:

SuperHeroes

Today I have a Halloween layout for you. It will be here before you know it. This layout is a picture of my son Hunter and his best friend Thomas on Halloween a few years ago. Hunter is dressed up as Superman and Thomas as Batman.

Another Zoey Page

It's so fun creating pages about my niece Zoey. It's hard to believe that she's 6 months old already. She is pretty much just born in this picture. So adorable. I created this layout loosely based on a sketch I found on the Prima website. The only thing I would change is where I put the rub-ons for her name. I don't like how the "y" is on her beautiful face.
Patterned paper is Daisy Bucket Designs. Ribbon is Close to my Heart. Flowers are Prima. Jewels I found at Michaels. The flourishes are Quickutz. Rub-on letters are Making Memories.

Wheels Inn

This page was very easy to assemble, thanks to the Easy Pattern in the September 2007 issue of Creating Keepsakes. As I was cutting the pieces according to the directions, I didn't think I was going to like it. I thought it was going to be another waste of paper, but I really like how it turned out. More importantly it was really easy to create.

Purse in a box

Check out this tutorial I found at Andrea Walford's website. I think this is so cute and was realtively easy to make. I decided to create a Christmas one. Mine didn't turn out quite as nice as Andrea's. I didn't have any "sticky strip", I just used mounting squares. I think the "sticky strip" would stick better. I also don't have the tab punch she used to make the handles, so I just created a handle with a strip of cardstock and two brads (this way, I can easily remove the handle to put the gift inside). Check out Andrea's website, she is very talented.

Bowling at Wheels Inn

A two page layout about our game of bowling at Wheels Inn. We took the kids there for March Break. It's an older hotel, but we had a good time. The page got cut off a bit during the scanning process. I need to get a 12x12 scanner. I also need to figure out how to post these pictures side by side. Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday

Hunter is invited to a birthday party for his friend Julia. I made this card for her birthday.

Stampin' Up Stamps: Doodle This, Sincere Salutations
Ink (all Stampin Up except for black): black, lavender lace, certainly celery, pretty in pink and apricot appeal
Other: scallop punch (Stampin' Up), circle punch (Creative Memories), ribbon (Close to my heart)

There is dazzling diamonds glitter (Stampin' Up) on the flowers. I really wish glitter showed up in pictures, it really makes the card look so pretty. I'm not so sure about the circle embellishment with "Birthday Wishes"...but just decided to leave it as it is.

August Scraplift Challenge

Another layout about my niece Zoey. I created this for the August Scraplift Challenge at Scraptivity. I really like how it turned out.

Sweet Baby Zoey

Another page about my beautiful niece, Zoey. These pictures were taken of her at the hospital. The outfit she was wearing was Hope's. It's hard to believe that Hope actually fit into it at one time.

Purses

I was doing some browsing today and found these adorable purses (follow the link below). Definitely have to try to make these.

I won a challenge!

Remember my Zoey layout? I created it based on a monthly sketch challenge at Scraptivity. Well, my layout won the challenge. Ok, so they chose the winner randomly and there were only a few entries, nonetheless I won and it made my day!!!

Happy Anniversary

Happy 1st Anniversary Sandi and Colin! One year ago, my baby sister got married. Can you believe it? I still think of her as a little girl, but she's a grown woman, with a husband and two beautiful children. Take a look at the card I made for their Anniversary.

Happy Friday!

If you're like me and will be staying home for the long weekend, check out this sketch posted on the Page Maps blog. I'm definitely going to create a page based on this sketch.

Baby Zoey

A page I created about the birth of my niece Zoey. The scanned version really doesn't do the original any justice. The colour of the pink background looks different. You also can't see the glitter on the butterflies, which really adds to the layout!
Pink cardstock - Die Cuts with a View
Patterned paper - Chatterbox.
Journaling card - Cosmo Cricket
Rub-ons - Basic Grey.
Flowers - I think are Prima.
Title - printed in Word using Monotype Corsiva and handcut.
The butterflies were stamped with Certainly Celery and cut out using the butterfly from Priceless. They also have a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter on them.
The layout was created from a sketch on Scraptivity (see link to the scraplift challenge).

Cards

A few cards that I made recently. The birthday ones I gave to my Mom for her birthday today. Happy Birthday Mom! The other two, I plan on sending out as thank you cards. There is a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for a swing card (the pink "Birthday Wishes").

The other birthday card is pretty much an exact scraplift of another card I found in the gallery at Splitcoaststampers.

The "Thanks" card is based on sketch SC186 from Splitcoaststampers.

The "Thanks so Much" card is also based on a card I found in the gallery at Splitcoaststampers. It was my first try with a blender pen. Still not sure if I'm using it right, but I like how the card turned out.
